MDTV GOES TO CAMPUS WITH LA TAHZAN: CINTA, DOSA, LUKA

Department of Psychology and Communication Science at Universitas Pembangunan Jaya in collaboration with MDTV, promoting film “La Tahzan: Cinta, Dosa, Luka” based on Psychology with the theme "The Anatomy of Betrayal: Understanding the Complexity of Infidelity," on Tuesday, August 12, 2025, 8:30 to 12:00, at the 3rd Floor Hall, Building B, Universitas Pembangunan Jaya. The event features five speakers moderated by Naurissa Biasini, M.I.Kom., C.HT, Head of the Department of Communication Sciences, Universitas Pembangunan Jaya.

The first speaker, Marshanda, who plays the role of Alina, shared her preparation in developing the character of Alina, discussed how to address infidelity by applying ADR techniques (Admit & Aware, Detox, and Reborn), and how to maintain communication with children as parents in cases of infidelity. The second speaker, Elmand, who plays Anggi, offered advice on handling negative situations in the household by emphasizing communication and practice mindfulness. The third speaker, Dian Sasmita, the Associate Producer of “La Tahzan” explained that the story of La Tahzan was inspired by the story of an influencer named Eliza who experienced infidelity, through conducting basic research, modifying the story, and creating a strong narrative structure. The fourth speaker, Astrid Suryatenggara, Chief Communication Officer of MD Entertainment, explained that MDTV’s goal is to educate a mom/woman who facing similar situations through entertainment (entertain to educate). The fifth speaker, Maria Jane Tienoviani Simanjuntak, M.Psi., Psikolog, who is a lecturer in the Department Psychology, Universitas Pembangunan Jaya, discussed the impact of the film on knowledge, what victims of infidelity should do, how friends can provide support, and the role of film viewers.

The event was attended by students and faculty members from the Faculty of Humanities and Business.Through this event, students are expected to understand the complexity of betrayed loyalty through infidelity, how to address infidelity in various roles (victim and friend/close relative), and recognize that films can enhance knowledge and learning.
